The Athlete Recovery Fund began in the wake of the 2007 season. Action sports athletes suffered some of the biggest injuries in history. At the time, there was nothing in place to provide benefits for these athletes. The Athlete Recovery Fund is the only official 501 (C) 3 charity that provides benefits to injured skaters, BMXers and freestyle motocross riders.
